Pipistrel P-812-164-F3A Propeller

The P-812-164-F3A is a 3-blade, ground adjustable propeller manufactured by Pipistrel. It has a 164 cm diameter and is comprised of 3 blades, a hub, an adapter, a spinner and a spinner backplate.

P-812-164-F3A Propeller

The P-812-164-F3A’s blades are fabricated using a mould. The aluminum bushing at the root of the blade is applied first and then layers of carbon fiber fabric afterwards. For ease of painting, the last layer of fabric applied is of glass fibre. After curing the blades are painted and their edges fit with transparent protective tape.

The propeller hub is made of Aluminum EN AW-2007 T4 (DIN AlCuMgPb), whereas the adapter is made of EN AW-6082-T6 (DIN AlSi1MgMn). The spinner and backplate are made of carbon fibre composite.

Pipistrel LN

The Pipistrel Low-Noise propeller is an adjustable fixed-pitch propeller for Ultralight and Experimental aircraft. The LN propeller may be used as both, push or pull-type propeller and therefore suits all aircraft construction types. Propeller pitch may easily be adjusted on ground to achieve maximum efficiency for every aircraft and type of operation.

SpecificationsLN prop.
number of blades3 (LN 3) or4 (LN 4)
propeller diameter1730 mm
propeller pitch at 3/4 of prop. radius12° – 32°
blade width110 mm
max. safe propeller RPM2200 RPM
max. safe engine power (permanent load)64 KW (80 HP)
central hole diameter1’’ (25,4 mm)
propeller head (hub) bolts & nuts typeM8
mounting holes’ circle diameter75 mm

The LN propeller’s outer skin and inside parts are made of composite materials, namely fibre-reinforced plastic. Blade’s base is made of aluminum and stainless steel tube, which lies within to ensure blade’s safe attachment to the propeller base (hub).
The propeller base (hub) is made of an aluminum alloy and features monolith construction. To achieve highest levels of propulsion efficiency combined with lower noise output the manufacturer recommends a spinner to be mounted. Furthermore, a vibration reduction flange can be mounted to significantly reduce engine vibrations that otherwise directly affect the propeller.

Pipistrel BAM

The Pipistrel BAM propeller is an adjustable fixed-pitch propeller for Ultralight and Experimental aircraft. The BAM propeller may be used as both, push or pull-type propeller and therefore suits all aircraft construction types.Propeller pitch may easily be adjusted on ground to achieve maximum efficiency for every aircraft and type of operation.

Pipistrel VARIO

The Pipistrel VARIO propeller is a variable-pitch propeller for Ultralight and Experimental aircraft. The VARIO propeller may be used as both, push or pull-type propeller and therefore suits all aircraft construction types.

*The Pipistrel VARIO propeller is a propeller specifically designed for Pipistrel aircraft fitted with Rotax 80 hp engines. It comes in one of two configurations, which depends on the country and category the aircraft is registered in. The in-flight adjustable configuration allows the pilot to set propeller pitch to any position between TAKEOFF (fine pitch) and CRUISE (coarse pitch) at anytime during flight. Pitch is adjusted by movement of a knob on the instrument panel. The propeller can also be feathered at any time using the same knob, as long as the engine is not running. The fixed-pitch, featherable configuration comes with the pitch factory-set. It allows the pilot to feather the propeller when desired and only when the engine is not running.

Manufacturing method

The VARIO propeller’s outer skin and inside parts are made of composite materials, namely fibre-reinforced plastic. Blade’s base is made of aluminum and stainless steel tube, which lies within to ensure blade’s safe attachment to the propeller base (hub).
The propeller base (hub) is made of an aluminum alloy and features monolite construction. Inside, all parts are made of metal alloys. To achieve highest levels of propulsion efficiency combined with lower noise output, the manufacturer recommends a spinner to be mounted.
